Description

A commission for ~foreversea that's been a looong time in the making. Paarthurnax and Alduin fighting before Alduin is sent through the time rip.

A lot of my art lacks color so I really went all out in trying to utilize color and ambient lighting in this piece. I really had to sit down and think about where all of my light was reflecting and what it would reflect off of, and what color that light would be. It was a tough task since I'm not really used to working with so many colors at once but I think it turned out okay for my first major venture into applying color theory. P: I also thought the clouds would give me trouble since I also don't have much experience in painting more detailed backgrounds, but they were actually super therapeutic! I really enjoyed painting all the fluffiness. The only major gripe I have is with how they look a little bit grainy - I should've made the texturing a little more subtle - but hopefully it's not so noticeable that it takes away from the picture.

Anyway, critique is encouraged on this is you have any, particularly on colors. Need some tips for the future. If you don't, that's cool too. c: Now onto my other commissioners that have been waiting while I struggle through school. Thanks for being patient <3

This is now available as a print on society6!

Lost in the shadow of the Black Wings Unfurled. Poetic aside, I really want to like this artwork. It's a fantastic representation of epicness, there is so miuch happening in it. Unfortunately, the angle we see it from, the way Parthurnaax's legs are coming down, and the jagged edges of his scales all say one thing - and at the end of the day, the lord of cruel ambition, master of the way of the voice, etc... should not look like a chicken. In this image, to someone who's worked with birds, everything about him is saying chicken, except for the coloring. Lok, Thu'um.
